Skype working with 3 Mobile to launch Skype compatible mobile phones

VoIP company Skype has said that they are working with wireless carrier 3 Mobile to launch mobile products which are compatible with their technology.

The company is working on plans to launch a customized cell phone currently codenamed White Phone.

This device would initially be sold in markets including Britain, Italy, Hong Kong, and Australia.

They might at a later stage license the technology to other carriers.

Looks like Skype has realized that they would have to develop such mobile solutions themselves without waiting for mobile service providers to launch products compatible with VoIP services.
