Nokia believes content would enhance interest in mobile internet
World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia has said that wide availability of content optimized for the mobile platform is important to boost mobile internet.
Company’s mobile division head Kai Oistamo said in a statement: “We are looking as a company as to how to facilitate and participate in creating content that is actually relevant for the consumers in emerging markets.”
He added that location-based services combined with social networks are one market which are expected to see massive growth in the coming years.
Nokia has been making several acquisitions as they aim to expand the service availability for their devices. This includes the acquisition of social networking and photo-sharing site Twango and Internet services portal Ovi.
