Honda Civic Hybrid could come to India next year

Japanese automaker Honda could launch their Civic Hybrid edition in the Indian market sometime next year.

They are already scheduled to launch a totally new City model in the market in 2008.

Honda is also expected to enter the premium hatchback segment in India with a model based on their Jazz model in 2009.

Market sources suggest that the company is also working on plans to launch a relatively cheaper hybrid car in India in the next two years.

Honda wants the Indian government to make its stand clear on hybrids which are yet to appear on the Indian automotive scene. Mahindra too is working on a hybrid edition of Scorpio.
