Nissan aims to launch electric and hybrid cars by 2010

Automobile manufacturer Nissan has stated that they are aiming to launch electric and hybrid vehicles in the market by 2010.

Nissan is currently working on developing technologies for such products. They are developing Pivo concept cars – Pivo2 which would help them with these new generation of cars.

Nissan showcased their Pivo2 at the Tokyo motor show. It comes loaded with more compact and efficient electric motors in addition to lithium-ion battery packs.

They have not however clarified on whether they would launch new variants of their existing cars or launch totally new vehicles with hybrid/electric engines.
