GM has no plans to take on Tata Rs. 1 lakh car
General Motors has stated that they have no plans to take on Tata which is scheduled to launch their Tata Nano model this year in the Indian Market.
The US based automaker said that they would be focusing on other segments of the Indian market.
GM’s President and Managing Director, Karl Slym said in a statement: “The mini-car segment is not a segment. This includes several segments and several customers. There is no need to battle with the Rs 1-lakh car.”
GM has also launched a new variant of their Aveo car. This one is the Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 LS Limited Edition.
GM is also currently scheduled to launch a SUV in the Indian market sometime next year. They are also considering getting into the second hand car market in India.
