Complaint filed against Comcast for P2P service blockage

SavetheInternet.com coalition and several academics have now filed a complaint against the Internet service provider Comcast with the Federal Communications Commission.

Comcast has been accused of blocking p2p services for their customers though the company had recently denied the reports in the market.

The FCC has been asked to force Comcast to stop from violating customer rights when it comes to freedom of accessing the Internet.

News media service Associated Press had posted a report stating that their tests provided that Comcast service users faced issues while connecting to P2P services.

David L. Cohen, executive vice president at Comcast had this to say on this claim: “Comcast does not, has not, and will not block any Web sites or online applications, including peer-to-peer services, and no one has demonstrated otherwise. We engage in reasonable network management to provide all of our customers with a good Internet experience, and we do so consistently with FCC policy.”
