Motorola

US based tech giant Motorola has said that they are currently testing their Femtocells in the European market.

Femtocells are devices which are designed to boost mobile reception inside closed locations. It also enables the user to route mobile calls through DSL or cable broadband connection.

They are crucial to the growth of 3G services as mobile speeds degrades a lot when the devices are used inside buildings and houses.

Motorola has however not specified details on which operators are working with them to test out this technology.

Market analysts believe that Femtocells could be offered with 3G mobile phone packages by the second half of 2008.
