Germany and Britain gets iPhone today

Apple is going to launch their much talked about iPhone mobile phone product in Britain and Germany today.

Rene Bresgen, spokesman for Deutsche Telekom AG’s T-Mobile spoke about the launch: “We assume that the device will find a very good reception on the market.”

T-Mobile is the exclusive carrier for the iPhone in the German market.

British mobile users would have to switch to O2 to get access to the iPhone.

Apple would be selling the iPhone in the UK market for 269 pounds for the 8GB model. Germans would be required to pay 399 euros.

In both these countries, the iPhone would be sold with a 2 year long contract.

Apple is also scheduled to launch the iPhone in France later this month. It would be offered by Orange in this market.

Maybe they could fix their plans so “unlimited data” doesn’t mean “limited, with a different limit depending on which plan you sign up for”. Pony up like O2 did in the UK, so “unlimited data” actually means “unlimited data”
