O2: Deal with Apple for the iPhone is profitable
O2 is being criticized by the rivals in the UK market for their deal with Apple. The rival companies are claiming that O2 is going to give a big chunk of the revenue generated by iPhone users in the country to the US based company.
However, O2 has said in its defense that the deal is profitable for them.
Matthew Key, chief executive of O2 ’s UK business added in his statement: “Our track record in terms of how we run this business is we do not just do growth, we do profitable growth.”
Market sources claim that O2 would be giving Apple as much as 25% of the revenues generated from the iPhone owners in the country.
This is also said to be a much favorable deal to Apple compared to their pact with AT&T in the US market.
