Walt Disney to launch mobile services in Japan
Market sources are claiming that the US based entertainment company Walt Disney is now working on plans to launch mobile services in the Japanese market.
They are likely to use the network of mobile phone carrier Softbank in this market.
The two companies are also likely to work together on developing new mobile handsets for this market.
Disney’s mobile service is likely to bring their media content to the mobile users in Japan.
Softbank would gain as they would be able to lease out their unused frequencies to Disney.
The Japanese mobile market is dominated by three players. NTT DoCoMo is the market leader followed by KDDI and Softbank.
