Intel all set to launch Penryn microprocessors in the market
Microprocessor company Intel is on its way to extend its domination in the market with their latest range of chips for the personal computers.
Intel is likely to launch its newest generation of processors sometime today. These new microprocessors are going to incorporate up to 40 percent more transistors compared to existing chips in the market.
One of the top end processor from Intel to be launched today is likely to have 820 million transistors on it.
Tom Kilroy, general manager of Intel’s Digital Enterprise Group spoke about the chip technology: “This is more than just a new process shrink. Forty-five nanometers is wonderful and we get an uplift, but it really is the reinvention of the transistor.”
