NBC Direct beta launched
NBC has now launched their NBC Direct video service in beta. This service would let the web users download full episodes of their popular television shows like The Office, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Heroes.
However, this service would only work for users in some particular countries.
Incidentally, this service was originally scheduled for launch in October. Users would be able to download the movies for play in a special player.
Unfortunately, the service only works in Internet Explorer web browser at the moment. The player requires the Microsoft .NET framework.
Episodes would be made available for download for only seven days after they initially air. Users would have 48 hours to watch the videos. These shows are supported by advertising which are not skippable.
Incidentally, NBC is also working with News Corp on the Hulu project and these videos would also be made available through that service.
