Ford might launch Mazda2 in India
US based automaker Ford has an opportunity to launch a small car in the Indian market through their collaboration with Mazda.
The company is said to be considering plans to import Mazda2 kits from Thailand.
These kits can be imported to India in completely-knocked-down (CKD) kit. Ford could benefit from the India’s free trade agreement (FTA) signed with Thailand.
They are involved in an alliance named AutoAlliance Thailand which would be making compact cars for the Asean market and Thailand.
It could be positioned in the same segment as Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Getz and Chevrolet UVA in India.
