Apple iPhone to be sold in Germany without any contract
Deutsche Telekom (through their T-Mobile unit) currently has the exclusive rights to sell the Apple iPhone in the German market.
The iPhone is sold in the market with a two year long contract. However due to legal pressure the company has now said that the device would also be offered without a contract for buyers who want to run it on a rival network.
They would sold an unlocked Apple iPhone for 999 Euros ($1,483) without requiring a two-year exclusive contract.
The iPhone is available with a contract for a less price of USD 399.
Carolina Milanesi, a research director at Gartner spoke on this new deal by T-Mobile: “How many people are going to spend 999 Euros on a phone? People are not used to spending that kind of money. In every single country now, people are going to look at the possibility of getting around the exclusivity issue.”
