OLPC Give One, Get One program to last till the end of the year
People behind the One Laptop Per Child Program have specified that they are now extending their “Give One, Get One” scheme that enable buyers in US and Canada to purchase one laptop and donate another one in the developing nations.
The program was originally scheduled to run till Nov. 26 but they have now extended the date to the end of the year.
This program requires the customer to pay $399 for two laptops. They get one laptop while the other laptop is donated for the project which makes available these machines to students in developing nations.
Project founder Nicholas Negroponte had this to say on this new development: “In the past 10 days, we’ve experienced an outpouring of support from the public that is truly gratifying and encouraging”.
