Verizon Wireless considering opening mobile network to third party mobile devices
Verizon Wireless has said that they are now considering plans to open their mobile network to third party mobile devices.
This means that customers would be able to buy mobile devices from the market and use them on Verizon Wireless network.
Verizon currently allows their own approved mobile handsets and features.
This could be a great move for the company as this would enable them to get customers who might purchase the upcoming mobile handsets based on Google Android platform.
They are however likely to allow only those handsets which have passed tests on their network. The manufacturers would be paying for these tests.
