Facebook unlikely to remove Beacon advertising system
Facebook has been under massive criticism for their recently introduced Beacon system which inserted user’s activities outside the social network on their profile pages.
The company has however no plans to get rid of it. Instead, they are going to modify the way it works.
Market sources claim that these modifications can be implemented as early as this month.
Privacy advocates has been saying that this new system constitutes an invasion of privacy. They are asking the company to provide the ability to the user to turn off this system.
Facebook has stated in a release: “Your feedback has made it clear that Beacon can be kind of confusing.”
