Suzuki to launch new car from Indian plants
Suzuki Motor has now announced that they would be launching their new car from their plants in the Indian market.
This car would be primarily targeted at their European customers. The company plans to invest around 1.8 billion dollars on enhancing capabilities in India to make it their global production hub.
Suzuki chairman Osamu Suzuki said on their plans: “Our next world car will be made in India. Given the importance of India to the Suzuki world strategy it is planned to invest 200 billion yen for plants in India to 2009.”
This new car has been codenamed A-Star and it would be the company’s fifth global car. They have already launched Swift, the Grand Vitara, the SX4 and the Splash.
Maruti Suzuki is now likely to show this concept vehicle at the upcoming Auto Expo show in Delhi next year.
