Boeing wins NASA order for Ares I rocket
US based airline company Boeing has confirmed that they have now won a contract valued at about $800 million to build the flight-control unit of Ares I rocket for the US space agency NASA.
The Ares I rocket is part of the program being designed to take the man back on the moon by 2020.
Boeing was earlier also selected to build the rocket’s upper stage. They would now also be building the three test units and six production units through 2016.
These parts would be manufactured by their defense unit, which includes its network and space division.
