Daihatsu to develop a low-cost car model
Daihatsu is a specialist maker of small cars but they are not exactly budget segment products. The company has now said that they are considering plans to develop a low cost model for developing markets.
The company said that they are specifically interested in developing a model that cuts emissions as well as costs and is potentially suitable for global markets.
Daihatsu President Teruyuki Minoura added: “We have to clear the global warming issue, otherwise a low-cost car wouldn’t be accepted.”
He admitted that developing a low cost model that is low on emissions is going to be a complicated task.
