BBC iPlayer now compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms
UK based Media Company BBC has finally made available their iPlayer online TV on-demand service for non-Windows platforms.
This is the first time that this service is compatible with Mac and Linux OS.
However, the download feature is currently available only for Windows users. Streaming works on all the three platforms.
BBC has said that they cannot promise right now if they would be able to provide download facility to non-Windows platform. Most likely due to restrictive DRM technologies they are using.
BBC added that they are going to start marketing the service starting Christmas this year.
