Viacom to use Microsoft advertising platform for web properties
Media giant Viacom has announced that they are now collaborating with Microsoft for serving advertising on their network of web properties.
The company is as a result ditching DoubleClick which is in the process of being acquired by Microsoft’s rival company Google.
This is a major victory for Microsoft in the web advertising market as they have taken away a big client of DoubleClick.
This deal is part of a five-year agreement signed between the two companies. This agreement would also see Microsoft licensing video clips and other programming from Viacom’s entertainment outlets for their own web services. This includes MSN and Xbox Live service.
