Wal-Mart Video download store closed down
Wal-Mart Stores has now closed down their online movie download service. Interestingly, this service was launched less than a year ago.
This comes after they had earlier decided to end their efforts to create an online DVD rental service. That unit was handed over to Netflix.
The company is now operating a music download service. They are also one of the leading sellers of CDs and DVDs in the retail market.
Wal-Mart spokeswoman Amy Collella said in a statement that the service has been discontinued after HP which provided the technology itself announced plans to discontinue their video download-only merchant store service.
