Maruti 800 could get cheaper to compete with Rs. 1 lakh car from Tata
Maruti has finally admitted that they would perhaps have to lower the cost of Maruti 800 model to compete effectively with the upcoming Tata Rs 1 lakh car.
Tata would be showcasing this car at the Auto Expo next month. It would be made available in the market sometime later next year.
Shinzo Nakanishi, managing director of Maruti Suzuki admitted in a statement: “We will have to do at least that.”
Maruti has been successful at keeping a dominating position in market thanks to these low priced models. Most other players in the market have failed to compete with them on the price factor.
Tata has been working on the Rs. 1 lakh car since years now and it would become the first real challenger to Maruti 800.
