Toyota planning to make India their small car hub
Suzuki and Hyundai have already decided on making India their small car hub. Now, Toyota is planning to do something similar.
The company has now promised that they are going to make India a base for export of the car to other markets.
Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath spoke about his meeting with Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe: “He met me and informed me that Toyota would be doubling its investments in India and would also make small cars in the market that would be exported to other countries as well.”
He further said: “They have said they would be expanding at their current manufacturing location, near Bangalore, and would not go for any new location.”
Toyota currently is a minor player in the Indian market though they have plans to launch some competitive products in the coming years.
