QTRAX already seems to be in trouble

QTRAX announced the launch of their services with much fanfare. The company promised free music content to web users.

This media content was to be provided from all the major music companies and they aimed to generate revenues through advertising.

The company further claimed that their DRM model was compatible with Apple iPods.

However, it seems like they are already in some trouble. The much expected launch of their software application is yet to take place.

Market sources claim that they are yet to sign deals with the big four music companies (EMI, Universal, Warner and Sony BMG).

QTRAX executive Richard Schineller had this to say on these reports: “We are finalizing agreements with the major record labels here at MIDEM.”
