MySpace launches its own developer platform to challenge Facebook

MySpace is already the web’s most popular social networking service. However, the growing competition from rivals like Facebook meant that they have to continue to innovate.

The company has now announced their own developer platform which would enable third party developers to code applications for the service.

MySpace also added that they are now naming MySpace business development executive Amit Kapur as their new chief operating officer.

Kapur spoke about this appointment: “I will be focused on making a platform for developers to monetize and promote their applications.”
