Vodafone announces plans to cut data roaming charges
European mobile service provider Vodafone has now announced that they are going to cut data roaming charges in Europe.
They are going to apply these lower charges before the deadline set by the European Commission.
The EU’s telecoms commission had said that the mobile service providers would have to cut these charges or they would face charges.
Vodafone has now stated that they would reduce the data roaming charges by as much as 45 percent to make it cheaper for their customers to use internet while traveling in other countries in Europe.
Vodafone Chief Executive Arun Sarin spoke about this new development: “Our focus now is to offer consumers, who are increasingly using their mobile phones to access the Internet whilst in their hotel room, in a cafe or on the beach, with predictable data roaming tariffs.”
