Microsoft acquires Caligari for their Virtual Earth service
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they are now acquiring 3D modeling software company Caligari.
This acquisition can help them expand the services provided through their Virtual Earth application which competes with Google Earth technology.
Caligari is based in Mountain View, California, and Slovakia. Their developers would now work along with the Microsoft people working on Virtual Earth.
Roman Ormandy, founder and CEO of Caligari said in a statement on this acquisition deal: “Now we will have more resources to rely on, larger market to consider and I hope more fun doing that.”
