LG says their laptop batteries are safe
South Korean tech giant LG Electronics has said that they have investigated into the January laptop computer battery explosion and the batteries are safe for usage.
The company claims that the batteries are not going to explode under normal conditions.
LG Electronics said in a statement on this development: “An external shock under an extremely high temperature caused the explosion in January. Under normal usage conditions, it is not possible for a notebook PC battery to combust.”
The battery powering that laptop was manufactured by their affiliate LG Chem Ltd.
LG Chem added in another statement that they are not recalling any batteries due to this incident.
