Guy Negre OneCAT Air Car should be out within one year

Tata Group has been supporting a project which aims to bring a new car powered with compressed air to the market within a year.

Guy Negre has now said that his OneCAT would be a five-seater and would feature glass fiber body. It would weigh around 350 kilos and would retail for less than Rs. 2 lakh.

Negre added in his statement: “The first buyers will be people who care about the environment. It also has to be economical.”

He further said that the car would be driven by compressed air stored in carbon-fiber tanks that can be filled in just three minutes.

He added: “For long journeys, the compressed air driving the pistons can be boosted by a fuel burner which heats the air so it expands and increases the pressure on the pistons. The burner will use all kinds of liquid fuel.”

But for now it is hard to believe what he claims…

I will be buying one of these cars as soon as possible. The money I save in petrol costs will pay for the car within 2-3 years and I like the idea of being in at the start. I imagine that like all new technology it will have its critics, but lets face facts the more petrol prices rise the more I will save and the sooner it will pay for itself. Forget global warming I think that is a natural phenomenom I just want one to save money.

Look at the SMART, if you want one you gotta get it thru customs (Good Luck)out of Canada!

I cannot find any information on the Air Car on Tata’s website. I can find plenty on other sites, but one would think Tata would mention something about this technology. I’m starting to think this Guy Negre is lying to the world.
