Fiat 500 coming to India
Fiat India has announced their plans to bring the recently unveiled New Fiat 500 in the Indian market.
Even though this is a small car Fiat is positioning it as a premium product. This model is likely to be priced at an astonishing Rs 13 lakh plus.
The company is also scheduled to launch Fiat Bravo as they aim to enhance their image in the buyer’s mind in the Indian market.
A Fiat spokesperson spoke about their plans: “These cars will pave the way for two of our mainstream launches, the Fiat Linea sedan and the Grande Punto hatchback which will be launched in September and December 2008 respectively.”
Fiat 500 has been a success in European market where it recently won the European Car of the Year 2008 award.
This model is based on the company’s classic Fiat 500 and has been positioned against the BMW Mini which is also coming soon in India.
