Microsoft and Mobile TeleSystems to offer Subscription PCs in Russia
Software giant Microsoft is working with Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (MTS) to launch their subscription based program in the Russian market.
The two companies would now offer Windows-based PCs on a subscription basis in this country.
The partnership was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This service would be similar to the ones provided by Microsoft in other markets including Mexico and Brazil.
They aim to start providing the machines by June this year. They would be loaded with the Windows Vista operating system and would offer built-in mobile broadband access to customers on a subscription basis.
The service would be available to interested customers in Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Turkmenistan and Belarus.
