BBC Worldwide would offer shows through Apple iTunes
BBC Worldwide is the commercial division of the UK based British Broadcasting Corp.
The company has now said that they are now going to sell their television programming through the Apple iTunes store in the country.
The aim is to generate revenues to make up for a shortfall in license funding.
They would begin by offering episodes of shows like Torchwood, Life on Mars and Little Britain. Each of these episodes would sell for 1.89 pounds.
Simon Danker, director of digital media at BBC Worldwide spoke about this new development: “With more people now choosing to watch TV shows on their iPods, fans of series such as `The Mighty Boosh’ and `The Catherine Tate Show’ can now enjoy those shows wherever they are.”
