American Idol to offer performances on Apple iTunes
American Idol has announced that they are now collaborating with Apple to offer the performances on their shows on Apple iTunes.
This means that performances of the entire top 24 semifinalist on the show would now be exclusively available on the Apple’s digital media store.
Apple said that they would now become the “Idol’s” exclusive online download provider. And Apple iPod has now become the official digital music device of the series. Apple iPhone has now been named the series’ official handset.
Apple ITunes is the fourth such partner of this hit television series. Coke, Ford and Cingular are their other collaborators.
Simon Fuller, creator of the show spoke about this new development: “We have some truly outstanding talent this year, and by working with Apple and iTunes, we’re giving viewers another great way to enjoy America’s brightest new stars from ‘Idol’. I’m sure there will be many memorable performances that viewers will want to relive from this 2008 season.”
