Hollywood now totally behind Blu-Ray format
With Toshiba announcing that they are now discarding the HD DVD format, all the major Hollywood Studios have moved to the Blu-ray DVD camp.
This is great news for Sony as they now have the only next generation format which is well recognized.
Paramount Home Entertainment spoke about their move to the Blu-Ray camp: “We are pleased that the industry is moving to a single high-definition format, as we believe it is in the best interest of the consumer. As we look to (begin) releasing our titles on Blu-ray, we will monitor consumer adoption and determine our release plans accordingly.”
Universal Studios Home Entertainment also now would soon stop manufacturing and selling HD DVD media content.
