Tata Nano production expected to begin in October

Tata Motors is going to launch one of the most anticipated cars of all times in the market this year.

Tata Nano would become the cheapest car in the world at launch.

The company is expected to begin the mass production of Nano in October. Trial production is scheduled for June-July.

Ravi Kant, Managing Director, Tata Motors said in a statement on plans to launch Nano: “We have always maintained that we will launch the vehicle in the second half of the next financial year 2008-09.”

He added: “There are certainly lots of challenges but we — the Shapporji Pallonji Group, Tata Motors and the West Bengal government — are working together and putting an action plan to ensure that the start of production is not hampered.”
