Stage6 shutting down operations due to high costs
Stage6 has been a popular video sharing service providing high quality video hosting for free.
However, the company has now announced that they are closing down this service as the operating costs are very high and they are unable to generate enough revenues.
Stage6 would close down at the end of the current month. The uploading feature has already been removed.
A company representative said in a blog post:
So why are we shutting the service down? Well, the short answer is that the continued operation of Stage6 is a very expensive enterprise that requires an enormous amount of attention and resources that we are not in a position to continue to provide. There are a lot of other details involved, but at the end of the day it’s really as simple as that.
