Yahoo Buzz to take on Digg

Yahoo has announced their latest web based service named Yahoo Buzz.

It has been designed to enable their users to highlight the most popular content from sites across the Internet.

These stories would then be promoted on Yahoo’s web sites which is one of the most visited online destinations.

From the sound of it, it sounds like a Digg challenger. Strangely enough, the stories posted on the service has links to other social networking sites including Digg.com.

Yahoo Buzz is currently in testing phase. The company said that the highlighted posts would be given preference for feature placement on their home page.
