Network Solutions sued for domain registration practices
Network Solutions is now facing a class-action lawsuit which claims that the company unfairly profit by forcing customers to buy domains from them for high prices compared to rival domain sellers.
This lawsuit is related to their recently implemented policy which sees them reserving a domain which is searched by a user on their website.
The company says that the policy is to help reserve the domain for the customer. But in reality it takes away the power from the user to book the same domain from some other seller.
Network Solutions charge high price for booking a domain name from them. And once a domain is reserved by them, the only option is to get the domain for that price.
Network Solutions recently had stated that they would stop following this practice if ICANN approves a change under consideration to the Add-Grace Period.
