Google offering free phone services to homeless people
Search engine giant Google has announced their new service initiative through which they are now offering free phone numbers and voicemail accounts to homeless people.
This initiative is part of the service provided by Grand Central which they had acquired last year.
Grand Central had been offering this service to people in San Francisco. This was part of the Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Project Homeless Connect.
Craig Walker, a senior product manager of voice products for Google claimed that they have already distributed more than 4,000 phone numbers and voicemail accounts.
