Space Shuttle Endeavour cleared for launch this month
NASA has said in a statement that they have now cleared the space shuttle Endeavour for liftoff on March 11.
This would be first of the three missions to deliver the Japanese research complex to the International Space Station.
A NASA spokesperson said: “We landed (Atlantis Space Shuttle) nine days ago, which is just amazing to me. The team has turned around and is ready to go.”
This mission would see the Shuttle spend two weeks at the space station. Astronauts would be installing a storage room for Japan’s Kibo laboratory complex. They are also going to outfit the station’s Canadian-built robot arm with a mechanical hand.
