Paramount Pictures to end HD DVD support
Paramount Pictures has announced that they are going to release their last HD DVD titles next week.
The company would then switch to the rival Blu-Ray format.
This is primarily due to Toshiba’s exit from the HD DVD format segment. They conceded defeat to Sony in the next generation storage format war.
The last two titles from the company to be made available in HD DVD format are: “Things We Lost in the Fire” and “Into the Wild”.
Universal Studios is another major studio which has already announced their switch to the Sony’s Blu-ray standard.
