Tata Nano: Budget would help lower the price of the car
Tata Motors are scheduled to launch their Tata Nano car sometime later this year.
The announcements in the Indian Government’s Budget have some good news for the company.
A 4% reduction in excise duty on small cars would mean that the company could price the car even more competitively.
The car’s basic model has been priced at Rs. 1 lakh (factory price). It was decided after taking into consideration an excise duty of 16%.
The reduction in taxes means that the company would have a bit more room to handle the increase in prices of the raw material in the coming months.
