Microsoft and Visto settle their patent related disputes
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they have settled their patent related legal disputes with Visto.
The announcement comes just a couple of days before the case was to be heard before a court in Texas.
The dispute was related to technologies being used by Microsoft in their Windows Mobile OS that allow wireless devices to access e-mail.
The two companies said that their settlement involves “cash and non-cash consideration.”
Visto had sued Microsoft way back in 2005 claiming that the software giant was violating three patents owned by them related to technology that automatically pushes e-mail from the Internet to wireless devices.
