Apple targets iPhone at the corporate users

Apple has released details on the new features which are now coming to their iPhone mobile phone device.

The company now aims to target the iPhone at the business user.

Apple is teaming up with a venture capitalist to offer massive resources to developers who develop for this new platform.

The company also announced the SDK for the iPhone which is currently available in Beta. A final version is expected in June.

Apple has said that all the applications developed for the platform would have to be approved by them.

The company also now plans to offer support for the Microsoft Corp.’s Exchange software with the iPhone.

An upcoming software update for the iPhone would bring features like integration of e-mail, calendars and contact lists which is needed by corporate customers.

Developers for the iPhone platform would be able to sell their stuff for the device on the Apple Store.

Apple’s new partner is the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers which is now offering $100 million funds to companies developing applications for iPhones.

Kleiner Perkins partner John Doerr said in a statement: “That should be enough to start about a dozen Amazons or even four Googles. And if we’re running out of money we’ll run around and look for more.”
