MP3 Players are ten years old now
MP3 Players continues to remain hugely popular as the technology gets 10 year older this month.
Korea’s Saehan Information Systems was the first company to introduce such a device when they launched their MPMan F10 in 1998.
The device featured 32MB of Flash storage which was enough space to store a couple of songs. Today’s players are capable of storing as much as 160 GB of data.
It used parallel port for data transfer compared to USB for most of today’s generation players.
Incidentally, the device had a display screen which enabled the user to check the song being played on the device.
