R.E.M. to launch Accelerate on iLike

R.E.M. has announced that they would be premiering their new album, “Accelerate” on the iLike social network.

This would allow the members of this network to stream and share the content from the album in its entirety.

R.E.M. representative Michael Stipe spoke about the decision to launch it on a social network: “It was one of those ideas that was presented to us and it seemed like a good one so we ran for it.”

He admitted that the music scene has changed a lot and “I think you can either go with it or sit back and watch it happen, and I would rather be out on the field than in the bleachers.”
