Apple sued for patent infringement by ZapMedia

ZapMedia has filed a patent infringement related lawsuit against Apple related to distributing digital media over the Internet.

This lawsuit has been filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

The company claims that Apple infringes on the patent they had filed in 2000. It was awarded to then in 2006. They gained another patent earlier this week.

ZapMedia further said that the iPod maker knew about the patents, but continued to infringe “in a manner that is objectively reckless.”

The patented technologies are related to media library database server application that manages access (to) a master library of media assets that can be accessed by users via one or more communication networks.
