China blocks YouTube due to Tibet protests
The Chinese government has now blocked access to Google’s YouTube video sharing service due to the ongoing protests in Tibet.
The block happened after several videos were made available on the service showcasing the protests in the Tibet region.
Market sources say that no such videos were available through the domestic video services like 56.com, youku.com and tudou.com.
China is yet to comment on these reports in the market which confirms the ban. YouTube is otherwise easily accessible in the country.
Market sources are also claiming that several web based news services are also somewhat inaccessible in the region.
